Overview

The data page helps you to navigate around the data you have stored against your sites and assets. 


Accessing the data page

You can access the data page in multiple ways, there is a full data page for browsing projects and multiple assets or sites. There is also a condensed version of the data page which shows the data for a specific asset or site. 


Accessing the Full data page

  1. Click on the waffle menu in the top right hand corner of the screen
  2. Click on the 'data' button
  3. You will be presented with the full version of the data page

Accessing the condensed data page

  1. Find the site or asset you wish to view the data of
  2. Clicking on the site/ asset (see https://support.vaarst.com/support/solutions/articles/73000510598-help-using-the-map-view for more information on locating an asset)
  3. You will be presented with a condensed version of the data page
  4. You can exit the data page by clicking on the 'x' button in the upper middle of the screen

Finding data using search, sort, filter and grouping

To easily find data or files you can use the search, sort, filter and group functionality built into the platform 


Search function

The search function can find files or folders in your current view when typing characters that match the characters of the names of your files and folders even when partially typing the name. 

  1. Click on the search bar, in the top left-hand corner of the data page
  2. Type the name or part of the name of the file or folder you are looking for 
  3. Any folder or file within your view that matches the name will show below 
  4. To remove the search filter, click the 'x' button inside the search bar

Filter function

The filter function can help you to find data based on the file type

  1. Click on the 'Filter' button above your data, next to the Search bar 
  2. A dialogue box will appear presenting you with your filter options, by default all file types are selected
  3. Unselect any data types you don't wish to see by clicking on the tick button next to the file type

Filters can be applied on top of Search filters. 


Upload Data

  • You can upload files and folders through the browser directly from your local file directory. 

Upload Files in browser

To upload files in the browser directly from your computer:  

  1. Click the 'Action' button in the top right hand side of the page 
  2. Click on 'Upload Data'
  3. To continue, select if you want to upload files or folders
  4. You will be presented with your file directory, where you can choose single files or multiple files to upload (or select your file) Please note if you are uploading multiple files you will need to select and upload one at a time.
  5. Once you have opened your chosen files they will be processed and you will be shown a dialogue box to confirm your upload.
  6. If you click 'Upload', the progress of your upload will be shown to you in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. It shows how many items you are uploading and the status of their upload, you can carry on with other actions on the platform whilst the upload is progressing
  7. To minimise the upload dialogue box you can click this button: 
  8. Your dialogue box will now take up less space on your screen
  9. If you click the 'x' button whilst the upload is taking place, the upload will continue but the progress box will no longer be shown to you, a warning will appear which you must confirm whether you wish to close the dialogue box or keep it open.
  10. Once completed you can dismiss the dialogue box by clicking on the 'x' button

Add new folders

To create a new folder: 

  1. Click the 'Action' button in the top right hand side of the page 
  2. Select the "New Folder" option
  3. An empty folder should appear for you to input your folder name
  4. Type in a name and hit 'Enter' on your keyboard, your folder should now appear in the data page 
  5. If you click on the folder, you can now add data to this using any of the upload data methods above

View Previews of your data 

You can quickly view (preview) what data is stored on your asset or folder, this only applies to videos, images, PDF files and CSV files: 

  • Left click on the file you wish to preview

Or

  • Click on "..." on the file you wish to preview and select 'Preview' 

Pre-viewing Video Previews

When viewing videos, you will be presented with a video viewer that will automatically start playing your video file 

You can: 

  • Adjust the playback volume by adjusting this slider: 
  • Skip back 5 seconds of the video, by clicking this button:
  • Skip forward 5 seconds of the video, by clicking this button: 
  • Pause the video, by clicking this button: 
  • Skip to a part of the video by adjusting this slider: 
  • Download the video to your computer by clicking the 'Download' button 
  • Close the preview by clicking the 'x' button 

Pre-viewing Image previews

When viewing images, you will be presented with an image viewer displaying your image file 

You can: 

  • Zoom into the image, by scrolling the mouse wheel forwards or clicking the '+' button 
  • Zoom out of the image by scrolling the mouse wheel backwards of clicking the '-' button 
  • Download the image to your computer by clicking the 'Download' button 
  • Close the preview by clicking the 'x' button 

Pre-viewing PDF previews

When viewing PDFs, you will be presented with a PDF viewer displaying your PDF file 


You can: 

  • Zoom into the PDF, by scrolling the mouse wheel forwards or clicking the '+' button 
  • Zoom out of the PDF by scrolling the mouse wheel backwards of clicking the '-' button 
  • Download the PDF to your computer by clicking the 'Download' button 
  • Skip to the next page, by clicking this button: 
  • Skip to the previous page, by clicking this button: 
  • Close the preview by clicking the 'x' button 

Pre-viewing CSV previews

When viewing CSVs, you will be presented with a CSV viewing displaying your CSV file 

You can: 

  • Download the CSV to your computer by clicking the 'Download' button 
  • Close the preview by clicking the 'x' button 

Pre-viewing 3D Models

You can preview any .ply 3D model loaded to the platform 

  1. Find your 3D model file you wish to open, if it is able to be rendered in the 3D environment your file will be called a model and an icon like this will appear next to the file 
  2. Click on the file and a dialogue box will appear, it could take some time for the model to load  
  3. You can download the model to your desktop by clicking the 'Download' button

Open 3D models in the 3D environment

You can open any .ply 3D model loaded to the platform in the platform's 3D environment. 

  1. Find your 3D model file you wish to open, if it is able to be rendered in the 3D environment your file will be called a model and an icon like this will appear next to the file 
  2. Click on the file and the preview dialogue box should open
  3. To open in the full viewer, click on the 'Open in viewer' button
  4. This will open the model in the full 3D viewer

Delete Data or Folders

You can delete individual files and folders or multiple files and folders. When you delete a folder it will automatically delete all of the contents within that folder too. 


Deleting Individual Files or Folders

  1. Left click on the "..." to open the actions menu and click on the delete button. 
  2. A pop-up will appear 
  3. If you are sure you want to delete the folder or file, click the 'Delete File' button

Deleting Multiple files and/ or folders

  1. Select the tick box in the top right corner of all the files or folders you want to delete. 
  2. Click on delete icon on the top right hand side of the screen
  3. If you wish to select all data, there is an easy check box to tick to select it all at once
  4. After selecting delete you will be presented with this pop-up
  5. If you are sure you want to delete the folder or file, click the 'Delete File' button

Download Data or Folders

You can download individual files, entire folders or a combination of files and folders from the platform


Download an individual file

To download an individual file: 

    1. Left click on the "..." to open the actions menu and click on the download button. 
    2. Your file should then been downloaded to your browser

Downloading Multiple files and/ or folders

  1. Select the tick box in the top right corner of all the files or folders you want to delete. 
  2. Click on the download icon on the top right hand side of the screen
  3. If you wish to select all data, there is an easy check box to tick to select it all at once
  4. After selecting download you will be presented with this information on the bottom righthand side of the screen
  5. Once your download has been prepared a zip will be sent to your email that is connected to your Vaarst acount.
